2.  Significance of Shinen2 development

Generally, a university and a private corporation cannot use the deep space communication network of NASA and JAXA.
Because they develop the moon and the deep space, an establishment of a new deep space communication technology with a university is extremely important.

3. Purpose

(1) To establish a mutual communication technology between the earth and a space probe in the lunar orbit

One of the missions of Shinen2 is to establish a mutual communication technology between the earth and a space probe in the lunar orbit (approximately 380,000km).
This will be used of a realization of a technique to send a lunar exploration robot on moon orbit.
It will be used for a moon mission realization such as moon sample return technologies and so on.

(2) To Establish a communication technology between the earth and a space probe in  the deep space of approximately 3,000,000km

Because, a communication system has been using by many amateur radio stations was equipped in Shinen2, they may try mutual communication.
Amateur radio stations of the world can perform a detection experiment of a telemetry data and a Morse code from Shinen2 which is flying the deep space.

Communication technology of Shinen 2 will be used for private moon mission and private deep space mission

(3) To establish a development technology of a space vehicle structure using a carbon-fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTP)
When we use this carbon-fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTP), can join composite materials like the welding of metal materials.
This has been not using to space vehicle structure.
We can reduce number of metal fasteners use such as bolts and rivets dramatically by using this CFRTP.
We are able to realize a lightweighting of a space vehicle and a large improvement of the structure reliability.
Shinen2 projects adopted CFRTP in space vehicle structure for the first time in the world. Shinen2 project has decided using the PEEK resin.

(4) To measure a space radiation distribution from the earth via the van Allen belt to the deep space

Shinen2 was equipped the sensor which can measure a radiation of the deep space, this radiation sensor was developed by NASA Johnson Space Center and Prairie View A&M University.
In using this sensor, we can measure a distribution of the space radiation from the earth via the van Allen belt to the deep space.
